On March 4, 2024, I received a surprise notification that I had been nominated for the prestigious “Farmington Area Artist in Residence Award.” The nomination came from a dear friend and student of over 22 years.  The city of Farmington Hills Cultural Arts Division had been trying to contact me without success. I was humbled and honored to accept the nomination, unaware of the selection process or outcome.

Weeks later, I received an email from the Farmington Hills Cultural Arts Division and the Farmington Area Arts Commission, announcing me as the 2024-2025 Artist in Residence. I was thrilled and grateful for this exceptional honor, recognizing my talent and dedication to the arts.

Under confidentiality, I had to keep the news private until the official public announcement. Plans are in preparation with promotional videos and photographs to celebrate my achievement.

Finally at the end of July and only a few days ago, the Fall Brochure revealed the news! My twin sister, Donna and I were able to share this news with excitement! I’m still in awe, and I look forward to the ceremony on September 28, where we’ll celebrate together with the community!
