The breathtaking photo on my website’s homepage features this majestic Albino White-tailed Deer bathed in sunrise glory, (scroll to the second photo). I’m proud to say that the image remains largely unaltered – only cropped and color-normalized to preserve its natural beauty. Capturing this moment required patience and dedication, as I lay on the ground at dawn, waiting for the perfect shot. It was a moment over a year in the making!
With only one in 30,000 deer born albino, encountering these rare creatures is a privilege. It’s essential to note that not all white deer are true albinos; some have normally pigmented noses, eyes, and hooves, indicating a genetic mutation affecting only hair color.
I was blessed to witness two Albino White-tailed Deer! During my observations, I noticed that the two Albino White-tailed Deer that I saw had pink noses, distinguishing them from non-albino white deer. Unfortunately, albino deer often struggle with poor eyesight and blending into their surroundings, making them vulnerable to hunters and predators.

I heard about the one near or in our community for a few years but never had the chance to meet her. July 18, 2025, I had a strong urge to meet her, but I did not know where to search for her. I can’t explain the feeling, but I had an urge that I needed to bring my camera and go look her and just go with my instincts. Sure enough, within 20-minutes, I literally walked into her. She walked right up to me twice! Thank God the person I was with recorded it!
BELOW: My current observations are of a different Albino White-tailed Deer, traveling with her twin fawns and an offspring. Unfortunately, she inhabits an area with multiple hazards, surrounded by roads, freeways, and human activity. I’m deeply concerned about her safety now that the local news has publicly may have revealed her location (thank God she moves around a lot). The widespread attention could put her at risk of harm or other threats. 
To all readers, please respect this magnificent creature’s safety and well-being. Refrain from sharing her location with anyone. A moment of fame is not worth putting her life at risk. Let’s prioritize her protection and preserve the beauty of nature! The local plan to cull the deer population next year alarms me, particularly since this Albino White-tailed Deer lacks protection. I’ve read disturbing comments from hunters eager to claim her as a trophy. It’s heartbreaking to see wildlife habitats destroyed for human interests, disregarding the well-being of the animals.

It was a blessing to see her again! This time, she was solo, and I couldn’t help but wonder if her older daughter was watching the twins, giving mom a well-deserved break. I felt grateful to spend an hour with her, capturing many precious moments through photos and videos. It was an honor to share this time with her, and I felt truly blessed! In one of the photos below, I LOVE that she had her mouth full of grass and leaves. I love that picture! She looks thin to me. I sure hope she will be okay. I am very concerned about her environment.
The Year of 2019
In 2019, I had the pleasure of documenting an Albino White-tailed Deer in a large park setting. Remarkably, her herd accepted and protected her (see the pictures below and the larger one above). However, media attention eventually drove them deeper into the woods.
I’m excited to share some never-before-seen photos of this incredible beauty. The first two photos show her with her mother, who’s distinguishable by the white stripe between her eyes. Until she started her own family, the deer remained close to her mother. In the last photo, she is pregnant again. Even after she had her twins, she remained part of a large family group, although I noticed she often wandered on her own, savoring her newfound motherhood.
One year ago, I received wonderful news about this particular deer: Thanks to connections I’ve made in the area, this resilient Albino White-tailed Deer had not only survived but thrived, recently welcoming another set of adorable fawns (normal coloring and not white fawns). I did not realize that I already posted about this beauty! I used to call this one “The Spirit Here is the link if you would like to view it.
In many cultures, albino deer hold significant meaning. In Native American belief systems, they’re considered a sign of prophecy, indicating massive change and spiritual growth. The albino deer symbolizes:
- Purity of soul
- Higher thoughts and ideals
- Cleansing of spirit
- Attaining higher knowledge
Seeing a white deer is often considered a good omen, representing purity of thought and soul. I also heard that seeing this once-in-a-lifetime sighting that very few people have the honor of seeing, are thought to be signs of good luck, good fortune, and once-in-a-lifetime happy endings. Maybe my life will change by seeing two of these beautiful creatures!?? 🙂
